VIDEO: Barack Obama “It Gets Better” Campaign PSA

President Obama has joined the “It Gets Better” viral campaign, a grassroots effort to end a recent rash in bullying and homophobia among American teens.

“We’ve got to dispel this myth that bullying is just a normal rite of passage,” the president says in the video recorded at The White House. “It’s not. We have an obligation to ensure that our schools are safe for all of our kids.”

Various vloggers and celebrities — including Khloe Kardashian, Chaz Bono, Tim Gunn, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — have recorded PSAs encouraging hazing victims to stay strong in the face of adversity following a surge in suicides by teens who were the victims of homophobic bullying.
