Tucker Carlson Michael Vick Diss: “He Should Be Executed”
A speech from Al Sharpton coming in 5, 4, 3, 2….
Either political pundit Tucker Carlson’s a really big fan of dogs or the FOX News commentator earned his right-wing credentials at the “Off With His Head! Institute of Conservatism.”
Carlson, who has spent the post-holiday week filling in for FOX News’ Sean Hannity, has come under fire after he suggested Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick — a frontrunner for NFL MVP honors — should have been executed for his role in an illegal dogfighting ring that sent the football ace to prison two years ago.
Vick’s been taking a public hazing by animal lovers and on-air personalities alike after he recently confessed his interest in one day owning another dog. Well, don’t be surprised at the level of political posturing on the subject in light of President Obama’s praising of the Eagles for giving Vick a second chance following his time in jail over his dogfighting scandal.
Even CNN’s Anderson Cooper gave Mike a shout-out on his side-slapping “RidicuList,” but Carlson’s comments on the Second Coming of Vick have been the most biting.
“I’m a Christian, I’ve made mistakes myself, I believe fervently in second chances. But Michael Vick killed dogs, and he did in a heartless and cruel way. And I think, personally, he should’ve been executed for that. He wasn’t, but the idea that the President of the United States would be getting behind someone who murdered dogs? Kind of beyond the pale.”
Do you agree?
