Kate Middleton Tips Philip Treacy To Design Royal Wedding Hats

More Royal Wedding News! Kate Middleton has commissioned Irish hat designer-to-the-stars Philip Treacy to create the head-toppers for the wedding party at her spring nups to Britain’s Prince William.

“There are going to be some flamboyant creations…Kate is keen on wearing something fabulous in the evening as well,” says a source.

If Treacy’s name sounds familiar, it should. The fashionisto is the man behind a bevy of bizarre hats made popular by quirky style star Lady Gaga. Does Ms. Germanotta’s telephone-shaped topper ring a bell? He’s also a favorite of Sex and the City actress Sarah Jessica Parker.

Kate and Wills are set to tie the knot at Westminster Abbey in London on April 29.
